According to Braiker
Clinical psychologist Harriet Braiker wrote a self help book[1] which identified the following basic ways that manipulators control their victims:
- Positive reinforcement: includes praise, superficial charm, superficial sympathy (crocodile tears), excessive apologizing, money, approval, gifts, attention, facial expressions such as a forced laugh or smile, and public recognition.
- Negative reinforcement: involves removing one from a negative situation as a reward, e.g. "You won't have to do your homework if you allow me to do this to you."
- Intermittent or partial reinforcement: Partial or intermittent negative reinforcement can create an effective climate of fear and doubt. Partial or intermittent positive reinforcement can encourage the victim to persist - for example in most forms of gambling, the gambler is likely to win now and again but still lose money overall.
- Punishment: includes nagging, yelling, the silent treatment, intimidation, threats, swearing, emotional blackmail, the guilt trip, sulking, crying, and playing the victim.
- Traumatic one-trial learning: using verbal abuse, explosive anger, or other intimidating behavior to establish dominance or superiority; even one incident of such behavior can condition or train victims to avoid upsetting, confronting or contradicting the manipulator.

Thought influence and manipulating your thoughts are very common, this is even apparent in music and TV/Media .
You listen to music and feel good, powerful, everything is going to be ok, well you just got manipulated, they make music to make you feel that way to gain trust in their words, they control your thought connectivity from word to word to produce a thought outcome .
In TV/Media it is similar, you are shown events often for them to create a desired outcome, controlled outcry, they will often not mention certain information as well because of the affect it has on public, obviously they plan for a certain amount to be affected, though a minority will react negatively, as it has been said many times before control is an illusion .
The media is controlled by laws, they can not mention all the information because of public reactions or be it crimes that may evolve, the limits to this being that some are negatively impacted on and even though it may be taken into account with media they hold no responsibility for possible criminal outcomes .
Anyone can see the child in this video has facial expressions that indicate he is trying to please the people around him, that he is 'possibly' being forced, his eyes indicate either he is on drugs (stoned) or that he is concerned in some regard . I would personally say after watching the video that his state suggests that he is not brave, that possibly he was coerced in some regard that he felt he had to obey to protect himself, he is trying to a degree that suggests he is not in a strong position that he may feel regret to some extent or fear . His vocals suggest he is also psychotic as has formed his voice with their speech patterns, which suggests he was trained to make this video to some extent, as a media publisher said he is nothing but a poster boy to IS.
Another possibility is that he did decide to involve himself in terrorism directly his decision, though if he did he would of just lacked the basic understanding of how IS operates and treats people, possibly he wanted stardom, may be he was mistreated and wanted people to view him in a different light. Though everything written and all angles here suggests he was vulnerable either to manipulation or did not have the knowledge on IS to form an educated decision if to join the terror group and this is certainly a possibility as he is a child .
Children regardless are very vulnerable, they are controlled with manipulation from an early age, even with parents offering treats in some cases to form their behaviour and there is many variations to gain trust in your child and affect their behaviour positively, though some parents will use fear and intimidation to control their child's behaviour (instead of positive reinforcement) leading to further issues and this may also of been case .
Another aspect is government distrust issues, it is a fact that the police and government do not share vital information in some regards, what we do know is they classify information that may be relevant to people or cases, was he affected by law or targeted in some way by police ? Or did he simply crave power, which the education system itself does not help with a points system (grades) .
School is all about how you a perceived to other kids, how tough you are, you are often not liked for being a geek or for being weaker in some way. Kids dress up for image, though so do adults, there is variations to how you are perceived and how you want someone to perceive you, emulation is another factor, emulating (copying) your music idol for example, which is a very common place for kids these days, especially for kids to emulate or copy their rap idols, often forming attitude and behavioural problems, self manipulation to form how strong you are perceived (using drugs to psychotically train one's mind to always think they are stronger or better or smarter, when often are much weaker as do not realise after time they have done this and that they are quite susceptible why they trained or 'convinced' themselves over time for their own alleviations)
Regardless of all this, he is but a child, he is 17 and by law he is a minor, he has possibly been sexually abused by IS which media fails to mention, these terrorists have little regard for human life and certainly they would be having their sexual releases somewhere they certainly can not go to the local newsagent and buy a magazine and not that they would want to . Being 17 his mind is still forming, he is certainly not the hard natured thug that people are making him out to be in comments on news posts.
He should be killed ? He should be seen as a terrorist and jailed ? No, he should be rescued as that is probably what he wants by now and if he does like the lifestyle which I highly doubt he is probably just another Eminem/Rap victim, even if this is so that he likes the lifestyle he should be rescued and simply taught better any ways, as he may be seeing now a very one sided view of the world possibly formed from other kids against him previously and other negative influences .
Its almost like these commenter's with their attitude on kill everyone that disobeys law would possibly believe in public executions coming back, though many of these type of commenter's are only going to this length to possibly hide their own mistakes in life or secrets to give a certain view of their social media, these people are the same ones who do not understand how a 17 year old could of been influenced into joining IS .
