His autism seems to exist in a fear state, and he overcomes or has learned to overcome which impressions this state of 'blind fearlessness'.
In the videos he looks up to 'show himself' to the helicopter, 'have I done something wrong, but find me' - he wanted 'a change' that is for sure, he directly decided to hold attention or make himself seen or known.
An uncertain state, and this seemed to be also said by his family that he gets 'confused' - with being confused and self-alleviation to this can further the need to rebel or explore perhaps, things like being scared of something and then overcoming, but this incident was most likely 'drawn unto him, his need to 'break-away' to further his being [overly happy or excited from prospects of camping, open air, free perspectives - the relative unknown, or uncommon - with family possibly encouraging these camping and exploration aspects in him]. I would say he did make decision to wander further before perhaps loosing where he is, if is on medication how quickly loses awareness of where he is would also be amplified on top of the condition.
Under fear, one trains their own mind to overcome with things like focusing on positives, overtime the actual fear can be avoided, voided, or even blocked into being only subconscious, to me it seems autism seems to exist like this, the constant intensity of fear wears down the recognition of fear itself, or being aware of ones own fearful states, so actioning or movements indicating fear is not apparent, the submissive or child-like movements are seen as autism, when perhaps over-time the indications to overcoming fear are not seen by today's standard forms of psychology which typically see imperfections or flaws as a generalisation in groups, no so much the individuals positive adaptions of mind to things like struggles, regardless of how rational the struggle may be.
These type of thought connecting medications prescribed for things like autism, which I assume would be amphetamines or uppers, give the person ability to know their own minds, they often form natures of wanting to please others and learn to even show they are scared to avoid being intimidated, they usually say this is illness, though the person is usually formed into being in an complete form of 'acceptable perceptive' - the extent shows somewhat capacity for higher learning . It is of course dismissed, though they form high-learning abilities which are not recognised, abilities to control outcomes through giving an appearance of be it weakness is just one sign of this, lowering themselves into states where they are undoubtedly the person to be cared for, and this can be formed from typical childhood mothering issues and various struggles that reflect in many ways, it usually forms into the person even actioning this daily as a self-comfort and hence it becomes second nature.
As the child with autism, you would be perceived as the kid who struggles to learn or can not learn, even if encouraged the child may still hold reservations about learning, most likely creating problems with staying focused during learning, a constant sense of not being like others so avoids the work. [defensive mental blocks to thoughts recollected]
The child being told is not capable so overtime starts to believe this, even tries to action it to convey interpretation of trying, constantly trying to please, due to own fear and awareness of their current standing, and often in these mentally difficult' cases current standing is 'the actual' - often a negative bad world hence adapts behaviour to suit.
These type of confidence issues and respect for ones own mind can be fixed with making the person proud of who they are, and especially proud of their mental prowess, though often they further revolve into diminished states lowering their ability to advance in many such ways from a constant cloud of 'no capability' that is issued to them from every angle, often treated as the 'cute child' and they are aware of this to some extent and emulate it, and it is often interpreted and actioned further by the child on, which psychological interpretation of this has standing issues.
Autism most likely creates perceptive restrictions via' how others action of/on the child. There is leveling to this, which typically furthers a subdued revolve, this can be seen through the frustrations of the child, aggravations of fear, once again regardless of how rational or accurate the fear may be, a level block that the child is frustrated against as a constant, the frustration itself being further seen as illness or incapacity, which voids responsibility of, and care towards, aggravating the child further until they are under such level of distress that they overcome, like a snapping point where somewhat normality is achieved again, though obvious problems over-length to this, the building block that is part of the foundation/s.
On top of this medication over-length makes the individual less able to move on or overcome to things, hence these often overly polite natures result as have dealt with directly this knowledge, and learned of.
From my knowledge those with autism are known to have lengthy moments of being mentally tired and grumpy, as if their very mental capacity limits heightened awareness at the time, lack of mental energies which form a cloud in mind, increased volatility and agitations would probably be present.
The individual is aware of their issues, or be it issues being handed (subject to awareness of) an adapts their nature to such to avoid all forms of negative type confrontations, a compulsive need for things to be always 'nice, right' - which this compulsion may be caused by the very uppers prescribed which can be known to cause these type of traits.
I would gather autism sufferers have a level of interpretation that is unmatched due to their prior circumstances and learning, being awareness of restrictions and care placed on them. I would bet psychology in these instances, is formed or narrowed and fails to recognise this. To me it seems autism sufferers completely 'read and de-script' thoughts, hence over time their adaption to showing they are the 'incapable' as a defensive mechanism to avoid fear being placed on them, 'scared awareness' [aware of oneself and further adaptions to resolve this fear] a state of being overly careful to large extents.
Though personally I feel they are actually on point, or be it on point for their particular circumstances. They would appear to grasp thought understandings with some level of easy entirety (targeting thought, and adapting forthwith to current thoughts in conversation) though is issues with psychology recognising this direct acute thought interpretation, be it with things like 'too up frontally focused' for example, as if they should not live from this, more than is, or thought about more than should be. Generally negative impressions are formed or actioned in most circumstances by these psychological values, generally being in a state of recognition of even be it simple thought adaptions, which are never seen as normal thought processing, which it may actually be 'the very norm', though psychology highlights these issues as being a 'bad/negative difference'.
Obviously they are quite unaware of importance to the individual of various effecting issues. The individual is 'just unwell' - instead of 'uncertainty formed through actual events leading' - psychology is quick to assign the medications, often without addressing or correcting issues [which can be over-laid with medication and further issues and be it gaps in thought processing or distances to the norm or reality as such] it is seen simply the medication will neatralise these issues.
Just because the person interprets the thoughts and may even action based from this almost 'instinctual understanding', does not mean the individual can focus on the thoughts and action use of the knowledge effectively to convey their awareness, various things prevent conveying that they are at an understanding.
Often it is just simple, they understood, analysed and moved on or adapted to such when the adaption itself appears seen as a flaw later, with no recognition of adaption, including failure to recognise forwarded thought processes, a direct psychological voidance that interprets the outcome of thought shown as holding no rationality, when most likely may hold more weight in actual awareness and actioning of than can be understood, and understood with current psychological focuses, generally being flaws of the mind or imperfections.
I do not know much about autism I will admit though, I am only judging by the videos seen in media, videos like Luke on a stretcher and some family member pushing his head down, I assume he lives under compliance, that he feels some accountability to be learned by others.
I was personally concerned about the need to find Luke, and no one wants to think about other ways it could of gone, reason for concern was his specific nature and characteristics being somewhat in unaware or vulnerable states or so expressed through media and the public thoughts standing to this, if was not found or situation went down be it being abducted paths when so widely viewed, would of been reason for concern.
